The MRL Access & Security Policy provides guidelines to control the access and the security needs for the Materials Research Laboratory at the University of California Santa Barbara. Policy Statement: 1. Open access to the building is available Monday – Friday between 7:30a.m. and 5:00p.m. (except designated UC holidays). 2. Electronic keys are issued to authorized users. These keys may only be used for that user’s access. Access privileges are non-transferrable. Unauthorized access will result in termination of the assigned user's access privilege. 3. Special access provisions are available for visitors anticipating an extended stay at UCSB. Visitors should contact their hosts to initiate the process. 4. Access is available to off-campus users of the MRL who demonstrate an appropriate need and have satisfied the campus’ liability and insurance requirements in addition to completing training specific to their needs. 5. Security of the building and the resources contained within the MRL is essential to ensuring the integrity and safety of all work performed on site. Additional methods and procedures may be used in order to satisfy that security. Contact: Department Access Controller Name: Sylvia Vogel Phone: 805-893-7233 Email: sylvia@mrl.ucsb.edu
